no school means one thing....SHOPPING, DUH!

Howdy y'all!

So I'm in a REALLY good mood right now!  I just got home from my first StuMo (Student Mobilization) leadership night and y'all it was SO good!  Reminders of how to schedule our busy lives while still making time for God and reminders on what a good prayer life looks like....no wonder I'm in a good mood!  Aside from all that, I just had a really awesome day...I mean who wouldn't have a fabulous day when there are no classes thanks to a national holiday...holla!  Anyways, I got to hang out with my super cute little cousin and do what any normal college girl would do on a day off from school....SHOP.  I didn't buy much but I did find a couple of super sweet finds.  (I'll post links to websites at the end :)

Aiden (baby cousin) and I's first stop was Belle boutique.  A little locally owned NWA boutique with super cute and super affordable clothes and accessories.  I found LOTS of stylin' clothes, but with the little dude it was difficult to try things on.  He was, however, super into looking at the jewelry.  He specifically LOVED digging through the big bowl of Lily and Laura bracelets (if you haven't heard of these or don't own any...go check 'em out now...they're awesome).  I told him he could choose two bracelets for me to match the black one I had already chosen...and to my surprise he did such a good job and I love the choices he made.  These bracelets are great for so many reasons....one, you can literally wear them with ANYTHING.  I wear mine to class with my nike shorts and big t's; sometimes I stack 'em with a sweet watch and some David Yurman bracelets; and sometimes I just wear them by themselves as a dressier look with my little black dress.  Also, the profits from these bracelets go to a good cause.  They come with a little card that explains it, but long story short the money helps the women and kids in Nepal who handmade the bracelets...woah how cool is that?

Aiden LOVES Chanel & Shopping

New Lily & Laura bracelets!

After leaving Belle, we made a stop by Altar'd State.  Altar'd State is one of my faves because not only do they have really cute clothes, jewelry, shoes, other accessories, and home decor...BUT it's a christian store!  They are always playing christian music and honestly being in that store just makes me feel good.  I didn't get a whole lot today, mostly because I didn't have time to try stuff on, but I did take a lot of pictures of stuff that I liked!  And I did buy a book and a really yummie candle.  The book I bought is titled You're Already Amazing by Holley Gerth.  As soon as I'm done reading it, I'll give y'all a short review, no worries.  My favorite purchase today has to be my new candle.  The brand is RESERVE and the scent is Black Gardenia, one of my favorite flowers!  It's an all natural soy candle and it's made right here in the USofA...so naturally it's a must have.  I'm currently burning it in my bedroom, and the whole upstairs smells like it...divine!

My new Gardenia candle!
Well y'all, I think that's all I have for tonight.  I'd say it was a pretty successful day though.  I got to hang with my favorite two year old, got to learn about Jesus, and got to shop at two NWA boutiques...well altar'd state is a chain but ya catch my drift.  Classes resume tomorrow...boo...so I'm sure my day won't be nearly as exciting.  Hope everyone enjoyed their MLK day! Sweet dreams y'all!

first blog post EVER!

Howdy y'all!

This is my very first blog post EVER...what?! I'm so so excited to start sharing my life with y'all.  In this blog I hope to let y'all in on various aspects of my life here in Northwest Arkansas.  I just moved to the area last fall from Austin, Texas and so many people have questioned my decision and can't believe that I actually have fun living here!  My plan is to post as often as I can (hopefully daily) about various aspects of what life is like living in NWA in my twenties!

The topics of my posts will vary from day to day depending on what I'm doing, what I think y'all will find interesting, what y'all tell me you want to know, and much more!  I'm hoping to include y'all in various journeys that my life is on...finding who I am in college (woo pig sooie!), getting healthy and fit, defining my relationship with Jesus, continuing in my love for beauty and fashion (what girl doesn't love clothes, make-up and shopping?!), furthering my passion for adventure and the great outdoors, and finding out more about the hidden secrets that make NWA such a hidden treasure!

I won't bore y'all with the nitty gritty details of my life, but here are a few things I think y'all might want to know about me!  I was born and raised in the fabulous city of Houston, Texas.  I lived there for 14 years before my sister and I FINALLY convinced our parents to let us move to the small mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado.  We owned a vacation home there for years and we had always wanted to move there...so after spending an entire summer there when I was a freshman in high school, our parents agreed to make the move.  It was such a joy spending my high school days in the perfect story book town.  After living in a town of about 1500 for a little over three years, I was ready for a change...a BIG change.  I applied, and was accepted, to my dream school, the University of Texas at Austin.  I was so excited for my new adventures as a longhorn!  I spent two years at UT, and it was nothing short of fabulous.  However, when I realized I couldn't pursue my dream degree there, I knew it was time to move on.  So now I find myself here in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the UofA majoring in business economics and I could not love it more!

If y'all want to keep up with me, my passions,  my advise, what I'm doing and what northwest Arkansas has to offer, follow my blog and leave lots of comments!  I want to know what YOU think!  Click the link at the top of the page to receive email updates on when new posts are up!
